KidSummer 2024 Natural History Day Programs

Adventures in Nature & Science
June 24 - August 16

Weekly, the student will study insects, mammals, pollinators, water, weather, feathers, reptiles, and marine life. All students must be within the required age range of the group on the first day of the session they are registered for.

Weekly Sessions:
Monday-Friday 8:30am-12:30pm

Week #1: June 24-28
Week #2: July 1-3
Week #3: July 8-12
Week #4 : July 15-19
Week #5: July 22-26
Week #6: July 29 -August 2
Week #7 : August 5-9
Week #8: August 12-16

Members $425 per child, per week.
Non-Members $475 per child, per week

Junior Naturalist:
Members $300 per child, per week

First Encounters I: Age 3
First Encounters II: Age 4

Come seek adventure! In First Encounters, your child will develop a love for nature and science and have an opportunity to develop independence. Activities are geared for this age level so that everyone has fun through exploration and adventure. Children must be toilet trained and able to use the restroom independently.
Limited to 12 students per week.

Nature Sleuths I: Age 5
Nature Sleuths II: Age 6

Earn your badge! Nature Sleuths uncover the mysteries of Cape Cod's natural world. Students will learn through intereactive STEAM activities like outdoor games, hikes, creative crafts, and science experiments.
Limited to 12 students per week.

Eco Explorers: Age 7

Become an Explorer! Eco-Explorers will traverse the variety of ecosystems offered on Cape Cod. As an Explorer your child will learn about the natural history of Cape Cod and all that it has to offer. Children will explore the trails, play outdoor games, and create science based investigations and experiments
Limited to 12 students per week.

Terra Nova: Ages 8-9

Discover the Earth in a new way - Join Terra Nova! using the landforms found around the Museum. Terra Nova allows children to develop an understanding and appreciation for nature and science through STEAM activities, trail hikes, games, science experiments, and projects.
Limited to 12 students per week.

Extreme Science: Ages 10-12

Join the Extreme Team! Extreme Science expands the knowledge that children have about nature and science science, challenging the students to go beyond their understanding using investigation, experiments, projects, trail exploration, and other science related activities, including weekly visits with a nature or science specialist.
Limited to 12 students per week.

Junior Naturalists
Ages 13 - 15

This program is part classroom and part practicum experience for middle school students, which counts as volunteer hours for school/community requirements. Students get to go behind the scenes, help visitors, and use the Museum and grounds as a living classroom. Student activities include: guest services, hiking, teaching, and special Museum event duties.
Limited to 8 students per week.

*Junior Naturalist hours are 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM. They earn up to 20 hours of community service per week.

KidSummer Art
Ages 7 - 12

Discover nature through the creative lens! KidSummer Art students will get to explore nature not only through hiking on Museum grounds but also through artistic interpretations using a variety of different mediums. Students will get to experiment with different art making tools while they explore the diverse ecosystems Cape Cod has to offer.
Limited to 10 students per week.

All students must be within the required age range of the group the first day of the registered session.
