CCMAS February Program: The Harry Nickerson Collection of Native American Artifacts from Cotuit

Join Archaeologist Dan Zoto for a discussion of his recent analysis of the Harry Nickerson Collection of Native American artifacts from Cotuit that is curated at the Historical Society of Santuit and Cotuit. Artifacts within the collection span the last 10,000 years. They include stone tools and ceramics that provide insights into the rich history of Wampanoag life in Cotuit. Dan will discuss the collection and what it can tell us about life on Cape Cod before the arrival of Europeans.

Dan is an archaeological consultant living in Hyannis. He holds an M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Connecticut and is a Registered Professional Archaeologist. Dan is the vice chair of the Cape Cod Chapter of the Massachusetts Archaeological Society.

The Museum is pleased to sponsor the Cape Cod Chapter of MAS.
