Getting Kids in the Act

The Friends of the Cape & Islands Theater Coalition Announce:

The region’s leading experts and providers of youth and children’s theater discuss the many benefits of involving young people in the performing arts.  Brief performances will also be featured, and those ages 9 to 18 are urged to attend and are admitted free.  A wide variety of opportunities to become involved in theater will be discussed by artistic staff from the area’s most established and newest children’s theaters.

Five of our best-known theater directors, educators, playwrights and actors will help parents navigate the many performing arts choices found locally – from classes to auditions, performances, and even entertaining and fun behind the scenes activities.  They’ll discuss how to understand and participate in a variety of styles in theater, from comedy and drama, to improvisation and musical theater.

Light refreshments will follow the discussion.

This Program is co-sponsored by the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, and is Number 4 in the Friends of the Theater Coalition Series:  StageStruck; Behind the Scenes of Our Region’s Theaters.
